Blazon: Or, a Haida Indian design depicting an eagle Sable, beaked and armed Gules, taking a fish of the second from the sea, Argent and Azure.
Significance: The badge is derived from an unofficial badge carried by CFAV ENDEAVOUR. It is a West Coast Indian design reflecting the service of the ship as a research vessel in Pacific waters, and recalling the name of Captain Cook's vessel which explored the west coast in the 1770's.
