Blazon: Argent, within a laurel wreath Vert a fleur-de-lis Azure surmounted by a rose per pale Argent and Gules, seeded and barbed Or.
Significance: The badge is that of HMS MARY ROSE. Mary Tudor (nicknamed Rose because of her beauty) was the eldest daughter of Henry VII and sister of Henry VIII. The rose signifies her father's Lancastrian (red) and mother's Yorkist (white) background, and predates the later Tudor rose, with the white in the centre. The fleur-de-lis signifies her tragically short marriage to King Louis XII of France, during which she was Queen of France. The wreath commemorates the destroyer of the name which was sunk while gallantly defending a convoy in 1917.
