  The Hon. Herménégilde Chiasson
The Hon. Herménégilde Chiasson is one of Canada's most accomplished cultural icons. At the time of his appointment, Dr. Chiasson was a distinguished member of the teaching staff at the University of Moncton, a position he has occupied since 1988. He has worked at Radio-Canada as director, playwright, journalist and researcher intermittently from 1968 to 1985.

The Hon. Margaret Norrie McCain (1934-) born in Amos, Quebec was appointed New Brunswick's 27th Lieutenant Governor General, the first woman holding this office, on on 21 June 1994 at the age of 60 and remained in office until 18 April 1997.

  The Hon. Gilbert Finn, OC
The Hon. Gilbert Finn (1920-) born in Inkerman, New Brunswick was appointed New Brunswick's 26th Lieutenant Governor General on 14 August 1987 at the age of 66 and remained in office until 21 June 1994. In 1974, he was made a Member of the Order of Canada and was promoted to Officer in 1979.
