The Beley Lecture was delivered by Mr. Joseph McMillan, Washington DC who spoke on the subject of "Heraldry in the USA: From Colonies to Republic". He is currently Director Research for the American Heraldry Society. The Wilkes lecturer was Dr. Chistopher McCreery, MVO, author of works on the Canadian Honours System, the Order of Canada and the history of the Venerable Order of St. Johns. He also serves as the Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia. His presentation discussed symbols of authority, which included details on the Parliamentary Mace used in Alberta. October 1-3, 2010	44^th Annual Conference of the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada, Ottawa, ON. Click here for more details. Meetings were held in the Confederation Room at the Delta Hotel, commencing with a lecture by Dr. Keith James, LRHSC on "The Heraldic Entrapment of Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey" on Friday evening, followed by the Heraldic Colloquium on Saturday afternoon following the AGM in the morning. The Gala Dinner was held at the Canadian Museum of Civilization and guests were honoured with the appearance of the Queen's Beasts, organized by Mr. David Rumball, FRHSC (Hon). The guest of honour was Ms. Catherine Spence, who researched the works of Alexander Scott Carter as part of her Master's dissertation.
